Another alarm, another day. Tempted to indulge in 5 more minutes of slumber, I hit snooze. Again. Again. Again. My husband stirs– he was on night shift last night– surely he doesn’t appreciate my daily disobedience to the alarm. I wake up. Grab my phone. Turn off the sound. Open to this: “[God] will send all kinds of blessings .. . If He gives you saving grace, He will also give you comforting grace.God will send you ‘showers of blessings.’ Look up today, you who were dried and withered plants. Open your leaves and flowers and receive God’s heavenly watering” (Charles Spurgeon, Streams in the Desert).

I look up and wonder when the showers will start. What blessings? Then I realize they’re right in front of me: in the words. His hand leads me here:
