Autumn’s Cathedral

Sunlight sifts through the window of a

A new beginning.

A chilly Autumn morning and

The soft scent of lavender

Lifts the maelstrom of frustration

From yesterday.

I shoulder my sweatshirt and sip my coffee slow. 12002879_10102254704207048_3120489953268869370_n (1)

Soon, the trees will slough their summer skin.

The sky will shimmer with the stained glass

Of an open-air cathedral

And slowly the world is renewed:

Through Autumn’s death,

We have beautiful life.

And as we walk on,

Let us seek the gentleness slinking through the cracks

of a whirring, warring

complaining and chaotic world.

Remember.

Be still.

Be brave.

Cease striving.

Like the trees

Flinging to the ground

What is dead in them,

We can be new.
